Meet the Author

Hi. I’ve walked this journey with three aging parents and understand the emotional and practical weight (and being unsure) of the decisions you have to make in real time. As a certified Senior transition Specialist and real estate investor, I help seniors and families navigate housing options with grace and confidence. I am the proud mother of seven grown children (all married!) and grandma to a growing brood of grandchildren. And I call myself the “Grandma Who Buys Houses.”

Book Excerpt

“I’ve walked this road myself. At 36, I faced my mother’s sudden heart failure and death in the same year my parents moved into our home. Five years later, I cared for my father as he fought—and eventually lost—a two-year battle with cancer. Just a few years after that, my mother-in-law’s slow decline from a debilitating illness brought her into our home for a three-year journey that ended in a quiet passing.
Those were heavy years, but they deepened my respect for families who must carry both grief and responsibility at the same time. They also left an imprint on my children, who grew up watching what it means to answer the call when God’s providence places a burden before us. Out of those trials, I believe, came a strength of character and a family legacy rooted in love, faith, and service.”
From Insight to Action
Reading Guiding Them Home will give you clarity, courage, and a clearer understanding of what comes next. But if you’re like most families in transition, one big question remains:
“This is helpful… but what do I do right now???”
You’re not alone. Many readers told us they needed more than insight — they needed action steps tailored to real life. That’s why Becky created the Guiding Them Home Handbook, a step-by-step companion workbook to help you:
- Turn understanding into doable tasks
- Work through emotions while making smart decisions
- Involve your family with checklists and exercises
- Track your progress — one conversation, document, or decision at a time
Whether you’re preparing for a move, managing health care, or trying to bring your siblings into the conversation — the workbook meets you where you are, and helps you move forward with peace and purpose.
Beyond the Book: A Practical Guide for Today
Reading Guiding Them Home will open your eyes. But if you’re like most of us, at some point you’ll say:
“Okay… now what?”
That’s why Becky created the Guiding Them Home Workbook — a practical, fill-in-the-blank guide for adult children facing real-time decisions about aging parents.
This isn’t just a companion piece. It’s a lifeline.
Inside, you’ll find:
- Guided reflection questions to clarify your unique family dynamics
- Space to process difficult emotions and document next steps
- Worksheets for evaluating care options, organizing legal paperwork, and preparing the family home
- Checklists, conversation starters, and financial prep tools to help you actually do the work
Whether you’re just beginning this journey or knee-deep in the chaos of caregiving, the workbook was designed to be used today, not “someday.”
💡 Don’t just read about it. Start the work that will bring peace to your family!

A Toolbox for Families, Crafted by Becky
When you’re in the thick of caregiving or crisis, a book can offer comfort—but a handbook gets things done.
That’s why Guiding Them Home comes with two powerful tools, crafted together to serve your family at every stage of the journey:
- The book gives you the why—emotional clarity, spiritual grounding, and thoughtful encouragement.
- The handbook gives you the how—the checklists, forms, conversation prompts, and practical steps you need to navigate decisions now.
And both were designed with you in mind.
Becky Fields has lived this journey. She’s not a corporate expert or distant author—she’s a daughter, a wife, a mom of seven, and a grandmother who personally walked three loved ones home. Her home became their final home. Her heart became their caregiver. And her experience became this guide for you.
As the Grandma Who Buys Houses, Becky now helps other families gracefully transition when it’s time to sell the family home—often after a health crisis, hospital stay, or life change. That perspective puts her in a unique position to see what families really need when aging or illness takes the wheel:
- A place to talk honestly about next steps
- A way to organize thoughts, paperwork, and options
- A resource to help explain those decisions to others
- A process that feels gentle, not overwhelming
Whether you’re just beginning this journey or knee-deep in the chaos of caregiving, the workbook was designed to be used today, not “someday.”
That’s what this combo delivers.
You may choose to give extra copies of the book to your siblings or adult children, so they understand the heart behind your decisions. Then you can keep the handbook close as your personal command center, working through decisions and next steps page by page.
This is your moment to move from wondering to doing, and to help your loved ones age with dignity and grace.
